Bound with brass and sealed with glass, the table top features a print of the famous map created by Hendrik Hondius in 1630. The mahogany and brass contrast beautifully, but the addition of the map makes this a truly lovely table. Although the brass shows a bit of wear in some places, most notably along the table top, this table is overall very sturdy and in very good condition. The map itself is known as "Nova totius Terrarum Orbis geographica ac hydrographica tabula." It was the first map to be featured in an atlas and as such has remained an iconic image of our world for the previous four centuries.
